My little piggy

Navie is doing this funny thing with her mouth now whenever she wants food. It is the cutest thing to see especially when you walk in the room with a snack and she stops everything that she is doing to come over and do this mouth thing. I'm not quite sure how to describe it so I took a video of her doing it when she was eating. She really isn't a messy eater but in this video she's trying to talk with her mouth full : ). If you listen carefully towards the end you can hear the little piggy noises that she makes.

New Calling

As of today, I am no long a Sunday school teacher at church. Now I'm the secretary in the Primary Presidency : ). I'm excited and nervous at the same time. Its going to take a lot of organization and prep time but I think that it will be fun : ). I'm trying to get all the information that I was given together and start organizing it my way. The last secretary wasn't the most organized and so I had to throw out 2 years of unneeded attendance records. My next mission is to get the scriptures, prayers, and talks assigned for closing exercises in July so I can hand them out next week. I need to get the quarterly attendance reports ready to hand in to the ward clerk next Sunday too.
I think that this is neat because lately I have been feeling like I need a little challenge. Being a stay at home mom isn't the most mentally challenging thing. I didn't want anything too hard but something to keep my mind busy. I think that this calling is what I need. I guess I got what I asked for : ).

Smart Girl

Here is a really cute video of Navie playing with her ball popping machine. I am so proud of her. It amazes me how much little babies actually understand what we are saying.

Look at Our Garden Grow

Our garden has really taken off! I'm proud of how well we are doing with it since it is our first time trying it. The picture below is how our garden looked 2 1/2 weeks ago. The beans had spouted and the tomatoes were showing over the top of the pot.

This picture is what our garden looks like now!!!! The tomato plants are so big that we had to separate them and get wire cages to support them. The beans needed to be transplanted into their own pots too. Even the bell peppers are starting to flower : )

Look closely near the flowers and you can see that we have our first tomato!!! Its tiny now but it won't be long before there are more and are ready to be plucked.

The leaves on the bean plants are so big!!! I took this picture so you can see how the bean leaves are almost the size of my hand!

Our Trip to Ohio

We had a lot of fun this weekend. We took our first real trip with Navie out to see Steve and Holly for Caprie's baby blessing. Navie did an outstanding job!!!! She did great in the car, opened up to everyone, and slept great in a different place. Here are a few pictures from this weekend. If you want to see more pictures from Caprie's blessing, check out Steve and Holly's blog. There are some great pictures there.

Caprie was so beautiful in her blessing dress!

Grandpa and Grandma with both granddaughters : )

Grandpa and Grandma with Navie

Caprie and Navie together. Navie really liked Caprie. She held her hand and even looked around the room for her whenever someone walked away with her : ).

Here is the Cleveland cityscape. It was so pretty.

Of course we had to stop and see the "Christmas Story" house while we were out there. Sadly we missed the tour hours but at least we saw it from the outside.

Cris checking the mail for his Little Orphan Annie decoder pin.

This is the funniest video that I have ever put on the blog. Navie is reacting to the sour coating from some candy that Cris was eating. I hope you enjoy it!

Lions, Tigers, and Bears. Oh My!

Today was a very long and exhausting day at the National Zoo in Washington D.C. It was really hot but at least it didn't rain. Cris took off of work and we went with another family and their daughter. It was a lot of fun despite the heat. I believe it was 88* F today and the internet said that it was 58% humidity! I was sweating like crazy! We got to see everything except for the invertebrate house. Cris' favorites were the Gold Maned Tamarins (a small monkey like animal) and mine were the Pandas and elephants : ). Navie was nervous around almost all the animal cages, at least the ones you could get close too. There was just so much to see. We are very tired to say the least and are looking forward to a good night's sleep. The heat really takes it out of you!

Daddy, Mommy, and Navie with the big fish. They were huge!

Navie wasn't too happy about being this close to the animals. Other than that she did great today : )

Mommy and Navie with the elephants. Even at this distance Navie was nervous.

Navie with her Red Panda Bear stuffed animal. She picked it out herself : )
