Yea! No More Sharing Time!!!

I don't think I told everyone but since I was called into primary I have been asked to do more than my normal duties. I was asked to fill in and teach the sharing time lessons for this month on top of taking attendance and giving the teachers their time warnings for the end of class! I felt like a chicken running around with its head cut off. I get done with one thing and then I have to hurry and start the next. Well, I'm finally done teaching!!! Next week is class sharing time presentations and Cris and I are planning on taking the day off of church because it has been so stressful for me this month. We are planning on going up to visit my parents next Sunday and see Steve, Holly, and Caprie since they will be in town. So this week I had to hand out the closing exercises assignments to the kids for the month of August since they are handed out the last week of every month and I wont be there. Its a good thing I have the assignments already made up for the next 2 months!

I had my first presidency meeting this week too and had to type up the minutes from the meeting and hand them out to everyone. Then I had to make invitations for the teacher's in-service activity and hand them out to the primary board. Lets just say that this calling is a lot of work! But its nothing that I can't handle :).

And just for fun, here is a new picture of Navie. I love that goofy smile!

Annabelle....time to take the 'ol girl out for a ride

Tonight Corey and I went shooting with some friends from church. They were sighting in a Saiga AK variation. Corey and I were playing with my M1 Garand. She'll be 67 years old next month, and yes, she was more than likely in The War. We were plinking at some apples at 50 and 100 yards. At the end of this video I nailed one of the 100 yard apples and it pretty much vaporized! Sorry we didn't get video of the apples going. Sorry, Micah gets pretty loud when he has his plugs in.

This next one was me doing some rapid fire. Check out the flame job at the barrel!

And finally I had some tracer rounds kicking around, so I decided to burn 'em at the end. You can see the whole range. The 50, 100 and 230 yards all the way at the back. Watch carefully at the 230 yard range at about shot 5 or 6 and you can see the round continuing to burn on the backstop. It's a little hard to see on this small video, but you can see a tiny glow towards the left. Fun stuff!

More fun to follow. Sadly all Corey's videos are on his camera, so we don't have any to show you. I'm sure we'll have some more soon.

We are in trouble now!

Looks like we are in trouble. Navie is a blankie girl! Most people wouldn't think much of it but for those of you who knew me growing up, I was a blankie girl too. I carried mine everywhere (literally) that I went. I'm sure Grandma Gauss will remember how many blankets she had to make me just to replace the ones I wore through : ). Knowing that, I went ahead and made an extra blaney for Navie. The blanket on the left is her blankie and the one on the right is the one I just made. She seems to like both pretty well but the original is still her favorite : ).

But here is the real reason that we are in trouble. Navie is climbing the stairs now. She made it all the way up to the top by herself with Cris standing guard behind her. Here is a video of her finishing the last few steps. She was getting tired so I had to encourage her to finish by bringing out the blankie. I don't encourage her to climb the stairs ( I make sure that she doesn't) but I didn't want her to give up. She's a strong little girl and I want her to learn and experiment while still being safe. Thats the only way she will grow : ). However, we do have to get a gate for the bottom of the stairs now that she knows what they are : ).

And a quick note.... Navie's new game is taking anything she can get her hands on and dropping it. She pulls everything off the shelves at home and throws all the stuff out of my purse over the side of the shopping cart. The really cute thing is that when she does it she says "Uh-oh". It makes me smile every time : ).
