Boyd's Bears

So we finally made our trip out to Boyd's Bears Country in Gettysburg to take family Christmas picture. I love going to that store at Christmas time. It looks and feels so warm and cozy. Navie loves to run around and look at all the cute bears that they have (which make getting pictures sort of hard). This year we weren't able to get a lot of pictures because Navie was so distracted but we will make due with what we did get.

I love it when they have the lard fireplace lit. It is just so beautiful and really gets me in the Christmas spirit.

It's always neat to see the HUGE Christmas tree. The theme this year was "Santa's Workshop".

I love this picture but Navie wasn't smiling. It was kind of hard to get her to smile since there wasn't anyone behind the camera to smile at : )

So this is the one that will go in our Christmas card. We finally got Navie to smile.

Navie had to walk around and collect as many bears as she could.

This picture would have been really cute but of course Navie didn't want to smile. She was pretty good considering she was surrounded by toys. At least she stayed right with us and didn't run away.

It was nice to have a quick picture of just Cris and I. And if you see behind us, Navie is staying nice a close but still keeping herself entertained. I love that little girl!

So over all I would say that it was a successful trip. We didn't get as many pictures as last year but at least we got one for the Christmas card. I know Navie always enjoys going to the "bear store". Navie and I will be making another trip out there in a week or two for the annual Chick grandkids' trip. Its a nice way to start off the Christmas season : )

I Spy Something BLUE

I spy with my little eye something.......... BLUE!!!! This year for Trunk-or-Treat, we did the BlueMan Group : ). We asked Cris' little brother Corey and our friend Joe to fill in as the other Blue men. Audrey (Joe's wife) and I were the BlueMan Groupies. I have a whole bunch of pictures so brace yourselves. We also went to a BlueMan Group concert last weekend to get ourselves all pumped up. Those pictures will be later.

We had our old TV in the trunk playing a portions of a BlueMan Group concert so people who may not know who the Blue Men are could get an idea of what they do. We also put our souvenirs, program (kissed by one of the Blue Men), and pictures from the concert we went to.

We made a really working drumbone (one of the PVC pipe instruments that the BlueMan Group uses) and the guys played a short version of one of the BlueMan Group's songs. Everyone liked it so much, that they asked them to play it inside with everyone watching. The video of that is below...

Ok, so now starts the pictures from the BlueMan Group concert. We went with Cris' brother Corey and our two good friends Joe and Audrey Anderson. We had 'poncho' seats (front row, center). Again, there are a lot of pictures so I'm just going to post them and you can get the idea. The concert was a AWESOME!!!!!

Yes, one of the Blue Men came down and stood right next to us during the concert. Here he is looking straight at Cris.

I LOVE FALL!!!

Today was the perfect Fall day!!! It was also Stake Conference weekend so we were able to be out and enjoy the weather. After Conference the whole Chick family always picnics together. Its a nice way to spend the afternoon with family and the cousins get to run around and play. Navie loves to play with Heather and Will. It means a lot to me for Navie to grow up with her cousins because I grew up pretty close to mine. I just wish we lived closer to Steve and Holly so Navie and Caprie could grow up together too.

Again, it was a beautiful day, a little windy, but still beautiful.

The last time we had a picture of all the Chicks together was at our wedding. That was 4 years ago! I think this picture is way over due : )

This evening, Navie and I decided to go outside and collect Fall leaves. She was so cute walking around, picking them up and putting them in her bucket. It was a really nice bonding moment for Navie and I. Here are just a few pictures of Navie from tonight.

And here is a short video from this evening too. I haven't posted a video in a while so this is over due too : )

Our Big Girl

Our little girl is growing up way too fast! She amazes me everyday with how much she has grown and learned. Here are just a couple of pictures taken this past week.

Cris was climbing trees in the back yard and Navie had to do it too. What a special picture I have of my two favorite people in the world : )

Navie is such a little girlie girl. She is going through a phase where she has to wear a dress everyday. For Halloween she is going to be Cinderella and it is hard to get the costume off of her after we put it on : )

We were able to get this twin bed frame for free from a member of our ward. It is in great condition!!! All we had to do was get a mattress for it. I think that I want to paint it white though. That way it will match her crib (which would be good because when we have another baby the kids will share a room). As you can see, Navie loves her big girl bed!

The mattress we ordered finally came yesterday and so last night Navie got to sleep in the big girl bed for the first time. She did great!!! I know she will love it even more when we finally get around to tie dying her bed sheets. We want to tie dye them pink and yellow : )
For now we are using spare sheets.

And even though Navie is a big girl, there are still moments when she looks like a little baby. I love our "little" big girl : )

Happy Birthday Navie!!!

My little girl is now 2 years old. I can't believe it!!! It seems like it has only been a day since she was born and here we are celebrating Navie's 2nd birthday. Even though her birthday was on Thursday, we threw her a party today. We had a blast!

The Princess in her party dress : )

Party decorations with little flower fairies hanging from the ceiling.

The party theme was "flower garden" so we had flowers everywhere.

For food we had chicken and ham salad, chips, veggie tray, fruit salad, and homemade limeade for a drink. Everything was so good. It was a perfect menu especially since it mirrored the light spring weather we had outside. It has been nice and cool the last few days.

I even made flower cupcakes : )

Present Time!!!

Navie loved sitting on the quilt that Grandma Chick made for her. It even has her name hand stitched into the border. She was really mad at me when I tried to pick it up so it would get stepped on.

Navie loves to play with the toy fruit and veggies at Joe and Audrey's house she they got her some of her very own.

Grandma and Grandpa Schaeffer got Navie a babydoll and stroller. It was HUGE hit with Navie. She loved it so much. I think it might have been her favorite gift this year. I know she is going to be pushing the baby around the house all day.... everyday! : )

Navie wanted to play with all her toys at once so she starting mixing them together.

It was so cute when everyone sang Happy Birthday to Navie. She had the sweetest smile on her face and I could really tell that she enjoyed it. I am so proud of her and how much she has grown. She is really turning into a sweet, loving, and energetic girl. Navie has made us so happy and can't wait to see her grow up.

Wiggles Concert

The Wiggles came to Hershey!!! Navie LOVES the Wiggles so we had to make sure we went to see them. For those who don't know who the Wiggles are, they are a children's music group from Australia. They like to sing and dance to different songs, some of them they wrote and some are twinkle twinkle little star and the Itzy Bitzy spider. The concert was so much fun! It was really nice to see Navie happy and enjoying the concert. I know she won't remember it but I will : ) This was our birthday present to her this year. I took a bunch of pictures so when she is older we can show her them and reminisce.

Here we are just outside the concert in front of a Wiggle poster. Naive's favorite wiggle is Jeff (purple wiggle). He falls asleep all time and everyone has to say "Wake up Jeff!!!". Its so cute to hear Navie do it : ). Sam (yellow wiggle) is sort of the leader, Murry (red wiggle) plays all sorts of guitars, and Anthony (blue wiggle) loves food. Sadly Murry had to go back to Australia for family reasons so they had a fill-in for him.

This concert was the Wiggly Circus. They left a flayer on every seat : )

Here is Navie with her Dorothy the Dinosaur bucket hat and light wand. We had to have souvenirs : )

The Wiggles always drive the Big Red Car. They even have a whole song about.

We had great seats. We were on the very end so we didn't have to walk over people to get to our seats and it was fast getting out. Plus, the Wiggles always go out in the audience and interact with the crowd so they walked right next to us. We couldn't have been closer to them : )

Everyone is allowed to bring bones and roses for two of the Wiggle mascots Dorothy the Dinosaur and Wags the dog. This is when Sam went out and collected some from the kids and passed by us.

Here you can see all four Wiggles plus the other characters, Henry the Octopus, Dorothy the Dinosaur (Navie's favorite mascot), Wags the dog, and Captain Feathersword (he is the comic relief).

They sing a song about fruit salad and how it eat it : ) I like the songs they sing for kids because they are fun but also teach them important things too like how to cross the road safely and eat healthy food.

They even did a little drum routine. I'm telling you, the concert was for the kids but they made sure it was entertaining enough for the parents too.

This is a video of Navie dancing and clapping along with one of the songs. It was such a great night. I was afraid that Navie wouldn't be able to make it all the way through the concert without falling asleep or having a melt down because she didn't get a nap at all that day. I was so pleased that she enjoyed it : )
