Word!

Check her out! Navie is sporting her new pair of sun glasses. She look like a little ghetto baby : ). I had no idea that they made sun glasses for babies her size. I found them at target. I might even go back and get a pair in blue just in case the next baby we have is a boy : ). They have a soft adjustable strap that goes around her head so she will be able to wear them for most of the summer. I put a little video on this post just so you see how cute she looks wearing them. I get a kick out of her! She looks so funny and cute : )

Twilight!!!!!

So call me crazy but I went out last night and got my copy of Twilight at the midnight release : ). I just had to have it! I don't really get out to do anything for myself (or by myself for that matter) since Navie was born so I decided I was going to the release. I wanted to do something that I would have done before Navie was born to feel a little like the "old" me and not just the "mommy" me. I had fun. They had free cake there. I didn't have any though because thats not the best to eat at 12:00 am. I would get a sugar rush and not be able to get to sleep when I got home.
Of course you had all your little teenyboppers there that were quite annoying. They were running through the store screaming things like "I have 50 copies", "sorry but we're all sold out" and "I wonder if I would get arrested if I screamed 'bomb'". They were trying to be cool and funny but they were anything but. Will the stores still have plenty of copies all day today......yes, but it was still fun to do it : ). Would I do it again......you betcha!

New Videos

Ok, so I have two new videos to share. Since babies learn by watching what is going on around them, Cris and I have been trying some things out. Navie seems to think it funny when we stick out our tongues and tries it herself. She sometimes even does it on her own just to get a smile : ) Yes, I know its not the best thing to teach her but it is just so dang cute!

The second video has a little of her sticking her tongue out too but in this one, she is my little vampire. Dracula watch out : )

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone : ) I hope you all are having a good day despite the cloudy skies outside. Here is Navie's holiday picture : )

I just love this picture of Navie. I'm starting to put flowers and headbands in her hair. The way her hair is growing makes her look like a little boy : (. I found some more bands at walmart that look cute on her and I'm going to make more flower clips to match her outfits. I couldn't find the right kind of clip at the store so I will have to check the craft store. If they don't have any, I did find them on ebay.

We finally got Navie's highchair built. Boy was it a job! It wasn't that difficult, just used a lot of elbow grease : ) Navie was starting to get the tray off of her bumbo seat so we knew it was time for a more secure seat. I was so excited to find out that her chair had a removable tray that could go in the dishwasher! I didn' know it came with one. It was a nice surprise : ). She looks so little! She is eating stage 2 foods now and loving it. It was hard to get her to eat a full jar of food but now she scarfs the whole jar down and stage 2 it almost twice the size of stage 1! She really likes the new flavors : )

Trip to the Park

On Sundays we always go to my in-laws after church for lunch and to do our laundry. Today we took a little walk around their neighborhood since we got back before they did and stopped by the little playground there. The weather has been really nice the last couple of days. I wanted to make sure we got outside before the rain decided to roll in. Navie had her first swing with Daddy and trip down the slide with Mommy. I don't know if she like it but we sure did enjoy it.

I just love this picture! Cris and Navie are the most important things to me and they are just so cute together. She definitely looks like daddy, especially when he was her age. She does have my round face though : )

I loved going down the slide with Navie. It was like being a kid again. Now I understand why some parents relive their childhood through their kids : ). It would have looked a little funny if went down the slide by myself.

Our Little Princess

Today we had a lot of fun. My mom came down with Steve and Holly and we all went to visit the Young side of the family. Navie got to see her great grandma and great great grandma! It has been 4 months since we have seen that side of the family. After we got back from visiting, Navie had some fun with her princess hat and wand. I'm so proud of her sitting up like a big girl. She truly is our little princess.

6 Months

Navie is 6 months old today. She is growing up so fast! She is now 26 1/4 inches long and weighs 14 lbs. 8 oz. She is doing really well. She loves her veggies but isn't much of a fruit fan. I'm going to try to give her baby oatmeal because she doesn't really like rice cereal either. I want to make sure that she is getting enough iron.

We had dinner the other night with another family in our ward. It was so cute to see their son Lucas and Navie together. Of course Navie really didn't know what was going on, all she wanted were the books. Poor girl, she looks like a little boy. I can't wait for her hair to grow out so I can put bows in it.

Well it turns out that the flu that I had actually was a mild case of bronchitis. Thankfully I didn't have to be put on antibiotics. It took about a week and a half for my fever to go away and now I'm just dealing with the cough. Even that is getting better. I have lost all the weight that I put on during my pregnancy! Yea!!!! However, my body definitely isn't the same. The number on the scale is back to normal but I my shirt size is 2 sizes larger and still a little snug around my tummy. Oh well, I'll just have to loose a little more weight.
