Navie update

I realized that I haven't really had a Navie update in a little while. Navie is doing really well. She has her next doctors appointment in August so I don't have an official up to date weight or length but I got on the scale with and without her and there was a 17 lbs. difference. As for the length, well if I could get her to sit still long enough I might be able to get one : ).
Navie is finally sleeping through the night. She has been doing that for almost a month now. It is so nice to get a full nights sleep! Last week she was waking up for a few minutes in the middle of the night and fussing but that was because she is cutting teeth. Yep, I said it...... Navie is getting teeth! She is getting all 4 upper teeth at the same time. One has finally come through the gums and we can see the others but they're not out yet. It's bitter sweet for Cris and I. We are happy that she is finally getting teeth since is seemed like she never would but we are going to miss that gummy smile :'(.
So thats the little update in the world of Navie. Like I said she doesn't have a doctor's appointment unitl August so I will have more info then. Here are a few pictures of Navie that I have taken over the last few days.

Trip to Hershey

So this Sunday we went up to visit my family and took Navie to Chocolate World for the first time. It was packed! I know its a big tourist trap with Hershey Park so I shouldn't have been surprised but I guess since I grew right down the street it never really seemed that special to me. I forget what its like for those you who don't live near it : ).
Cris and Navie outside Chocolate World. Its was so weird to back as a tourist!

Me and Navie inside Chocolate World after we went on the ride. Navie had to have a stuffed cow like the ones during the ride and of course we had to get some chocolate : ).

Steve and Holly were in town and so it was really great to see them again! I love that little Caprie!

I baked a fresh blueberry pie and took it up with us to share with everyone. I didn't get a picture of the final product because as you can see from the picture of Navie, it didn't last long. It was pretty good if I say so myself : ). However, I did get a picture of it before I baked it.

It was a really fun day on Sunday. It was great to see my family again and a real treat seeing Steve, Holly, and Caprie! I can't wait to see them all again. The next time will be at Navie's 1st birthday party. I can't believe that my baby is turning 1 so soon!

My Birthday Present

For my birthday Cris ordered me a present but it wasn't supposed to get here until Monday. Well it finally came in and I picked it up. Its the cutest key chain with my favorite picture of Navie laser etched into it. I love it!!!! Here is a picture of it. I hope you can see the picture of Navie. Thank you so much Cris. You know me so well and I can tell you put a lot of thought into my present. I love you!

Washer and Dryer

Today my washer and dryer were delivered. I'm so excited! The last place we lived didn't have a washer or dryer so for almost 3 years now we have been doing our laundry over at Cris' parents' house. I'm grateful that they let us use theirs so we didn't have to do coin laundry. That saved us a lot of money but now with a baby, I'm glad to be able to do laundry at home.

Here is my GE washing machine. Its nothing fancy but its mine and will wash my clothes : ).

And here is my matching dryer. It will be so nice to do laundry at home.

Yea! No More Sharing Time!!!

I don't think I told everyone but since I was called into primary I have been asked to do more than my normal duties. I was asked to fill in and teach the sharing time lessons for this month on top of taking attendance and giving the teachers their time warnings for the end of class! I felt like a chicken running around with its head cut off. I get done with one thing and then I have to hurry and start the next. Well, I'm finally done teaching!!! Next week is class sharing time presentations and Cris and I are planning on taking the day off of church because it has been so stressful for me this month. We are planning on going up to visit my parents next Sunday and see Steve, Holly, and Caprie since they will be in town. So this week I had to hand out the closing exercises assignments to the kids for the month of August since they are handed out the last week of every month and I wont be there. Its a good thing I have the assignments already made up for the next 2 months!

I had my first presidency meeting this week too and had to type up the minutes from the meeting and hand them out to everyone. Then I had to make invitations for the teacher's in-service activity and hand them out to the primary board. Lets just say that this calling is a lot of work! But its nothing that I can't handle :).

And just for fun, here is a new picture of Navie. I love that goofy smile!

Annabelle....time to take the 'ol girl out for a ride

Tonight Corey and I went shooting with some friends from church. They were sighting in a Saiga AK variation. Corey and I were playing with my M1 Garand. She'll be 67 years old next month, and yes, she was more than likely in The War. We were plinking at some apples at 50 and 100 yards. At the end of this video I nailed one of the 100 yard apples and it pretty much vaporized! Sorry we didn't get video of the apples going. Sorry, Micah gets pretty loud when he has his plugs in.

This next one was me doing some rapid fire. Check out the flame job at the barrel!

And finally I had some tracer rounds kicking around, so I decided to burn 'em at the end. You can see the whole range. The 50, 100 and 230 yards all the way at the back. Watch carefully at the 230 yard range at about shot 5 or 6 and you can see the round continuing to burn on the backstop. It's a little hard to see on this small video, but you can see a tiny glow towards the left. Fun stuff!

More fun to follow. Sadly all Corey's videos are on his camera, so we don't have any to show you. I'm sure we'll have some more soon.

We are in trouble now!

Looks like we are in trouble. Navie is a blankie girl! Most people wouldn't think much of it but for those of you who knew me growing up, I was a blankie girl too. I carried mine everywhere (literally) that I went. I'm sure Grandma Gauss will remember how many blankets she had to make me just to replace the ones I wore through : ). Knowing that, I went ahead and made an extra blaney for Navie. The blanket on the left is her blankie and the one on the right is the one I just made. She seems to like both pretty well but the original is still her favorite : ).

But here is the real reason that we are in trouble. Navie is climbing the stairs now. She made it all the way up to the top by herself with Cris standing guard behind her. Here is a video of her finishing the last few steps. She was getting tired so I had to encourage her to finish by bringing out the blankie. I don't encourage her to climb the stairs ( I make sure that she doesn't) but I didn't want her to give up. She's a strong little girl and I want her to learn and experiment while still being safe. Thats the only way she will grow : ). However, we do have to get a gate for the bottom of the stairs now that she knows what they are : ).

And a quick note.... Navie's new game is taking anything she can get her hands on and dropping it. She pulls everything off the shelves at home and throws all the stuff out of my purse over the side of the shopping cart. The really cute thing is that when she does it she says "Uh-oh". It makes me smile every time : ).

great weekend

I hope that everyone enjoyed their fourth of July weekend. I know we did. Our cook out went great! It was so much fun. We had plenty of food for everyone and even some to spare. Of course after eating we did some of our own fireworks. Craig brought a lot of them but the little ones that we had did just as much has his big ones. Our fountains even went higher than his : ). After that we were ready for the real fireworks. The greatest part is that we were able to put Navie down for bed and watch them without worrying about her. She slept through the whole thing. Here is a video of the view we had from out back yard. We couldn't have had a better spot to see them. I think our place is the new party scene for the fourth of July: ).

Cris even gave us a little light show of his own. It was hard for him to see in the dark but he still did a good job juggling. Sorry the video isn't the greatest. It was dark obviously and my camera had a hard time focusing. You get the idea though : ).

Happy Fourth of July everyone! I hope you all have something planned for today. We are having a cook out at our place with the rest of the Chick family. It looks like we are going to have some nice weather for it too : ). Of course with a new holiday, I had to have pictures of Navie. I hope you all enjoy them. Even if she's not "America's Sweetheart", she is definitely our sweetheart.
