Merry Christmas

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas this year! Here are a few pictures from the last few days and all the fun we had : ).

Here is our little Christmas tree and stockings. We went and got a little tree instead of using our big one so that way Navie couldn't get to it and pull all the ornaments off. I missed having my big tree though, but I'm glad we did the little one. There is no way I would have been able to keep up with Navie if we used the big tree.

Here is Navie in her funny winter hat : ). She loves it!

Here is Navie and Cris playing their own version of "teddy bear twister". This is an old quilt that Cris had as a kid. Navie loves all the bears : ).

Navie opening presents.

Santa brought Navie a set a DVD's that teaches babies to read. You can start as early as 3 months old. Navie loves books so hopefully this will help her to read. Its never too early to start. Plus since she does love books we want to strike will the iron is hot : )

Of course we had our traditional cornish hens. Yummy!

After dinner we went to the Chick family gift exchange. Here I am with Navie.

Navie had to help everyone open their presents. Here she is with Great Grandma Strunk's puppy. She was giving it kisses.

This is Navie's big gift. Its a ladybug tent with a tunnel! I love it and I think Navie does too : )

Navie and cousin Will inside the tent.

Yesterday we were able to get the great grandkids on the Schaeffer side of the family together. It was so much fun to see all the little babies playing with each other. Sadly Holly wasn't there with Caprie, and Loretta wasn't there with Cady. Also Margets oldest son wasn't there either. So total, there were 2 moms and 3 kids not there. Hopefully next year we can get everyone together.

Let It Snow!

Well, I don't think that I need to tell everyone that we have had snow : ). So here are a few pictures from today.

This is a cake that I made yesterday, only if I had known what an omen it would turn out to be : )

Here is Navie outside enjoying the snow.

Here she is trying to catch the snow.

Here we are out on the back deck. This shows you how much snow we got and it was only 1:00 pm. Its still snowing now and its a little after 6:00pm! Plus this is behind the house so its protected by the fence from the all the drifting.

Navie again enjoying the snow : )

For fun we decided to stick Navie in the snow. She really didn't mind it all. Sadly though she did take a nosedive right into a pile earlier.

FedEx had to close today so Cris was able to be home with us and enjoy the day off. The only bad thing is, is that he has to work Sunday to make up for it. They are desperate to get these packages out. Christmas is only 6 days away! And if for some reason they can't go out Sunday then he will have to work Christmas. Please let the roads be fine tomorrow!!!

Our Little Big Girl

Our little girl is growing into such a sweet big girl. Navie had a doctors appointment today and she did so well. Navie was fascinated with her belly button while we were waiting for the doctor to come in. She didn't fuss once. She even gave the doctor a little smile when he picked her up : ). So Navie's new stats are...... 10 teeth, 29 1/2 in. long, 20 lbs. 7oz., 17ish in. head, and she is in the 15th percentile of babies her age. Even though she is getting big to us I guess you can say that she is still pretty small for her age. Heck, 85% of kids her age are bigger than her : ).

Here is a video Navie's happy feet. I tried to upload this video before but for some reason it wouldn't do it. I hope its working now : )

Happy Thanksmas!

We had such a wonderful day yesterday. This year for Thanksgiving we went up to my parents and was able to spend the day with them and Steve, Holly, and Caprie. We had a blast! Since the whole family was there my parents decided to make it Thanksmas.... Thanksgiving and Christmas. Steve and Holly will be going out to Utah for Christmas so this was our opportunity to do Christmas too.

Here is the tree and of course the yole log buring on the Tv : )

Navie couldn't keep her hands off of the tree. I was chasing her non-stop.

Navie loved seeing Caprie! So much in fact that Caprie started to get a little overloaded from all the attention : ).

Navie "eating" Thanksgiving dinner. She played with it more than actually eating it. In fact, she had so much fun yesterday that she didn't want to stop to eat. I could barely get her to eat anything!

After dinner we all sat down to open presents. Navie got alot of really nice toys and outfits. The lady bug outfit is think is her favorite. She loved it so much that she had to take it out of my hands and show Grandma. Later we had to put it on : ).

I think Caprie liked Thanksmas too. She got a lot of really nice toys too. Here she is playing one of them. Sadly I didn't get a picture of her playing with her new ball popping machine. She really liked that one and was smiling at it : ).

Cris and I made out like bandets too. We got a Blu-ray player!!!!!!! As you can see from this goofy picture of Cris, we were really excited!

And of course there isn't really a need for a blu-ray player if you don't have anything to watch, so Mom and Dad also got us some Blu-ray movies. The picture looks so good!

We had such a great time yesterday!!! It was so nice to see everyone again and to be able to spend time together. We have a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. We have a great family and have a great a time when we are together.

Christmas Pictures

I couldn't wait any longer. I just had to turn the blog into Christmas : ). We went to Boyds Bears and took our Christmas pictures. It was really hard to get any good pictures because Navie was so distracted by all the stuffed animals but here are the ones I did get...

Bath Time

It has taken awhile but Navie has finally started to play during bath time. She loves to chase her ducky around the tub and splash. Sometimes she gets mad at us when we take her out : ). She does not however like bubbles in the water. She gets scared when she can't see her legs under the water : ). The only bubbles that she likes during bath time are the bubbles that form when Cris pores water into the tub. She even asks for those : ). Here are two videos of Navie during bath time. They're not much but I thought I would share them anyways.

Pretty Colors

Its been a about a week since I have posted anything new so I thought that I would do a little post. Not much has really happened in our family other than I have been sick for little. I even lost my voice for the first time. It wasn't fun. But thats not what this post about.... Navie has really taken to coloring : ). Tonight she decided our walls needed a little color! It wasn't fun cleaning it off since our walls are flat paint. But with a little soap and water and some elbow grease I was able to get it all off :)

Trunk or Treat

Every year our ward does a really nice Trunk or Treat activity for Halloween. For those who don't know what it is, its a ward activity where people can decorate their trunks for Halloween and meet in the church's parking lot. Little kids come around to each car to get candy. Well, this year was our first year and we kept our theme a secret. Now that we have done it, here is our theme..... Ghostbusters!!!! It was so much fun!!! Of course we won best costume, and best trunk!! Here are some pictures from tonight!

My little Slimer!!

Here we are. Cris was a Ghostbuster, I was Janine (the secretary), and of course Navie was Slimer. It was really windy out so my wig is blowing around in this picture : )

Here is our trunk. The sign on top of the car is actually lit but you can't tell because its was still light out when I took the picture.

This is the Mobile Ghost Containment Unit. Inside we had ghosts hanging from the ceiling and a fog machine : )

Cris with his machine!!

Here is the what his pack looked like. It had working lights, played the Ghostbusters theme song, and everything! He worked really hard making it and it shows!!! And did I mentioned he made it himself : ).

Here is the view you got when you looked through the view finder on the machine. I made and painted all the ghosts so they would glow under the black light that we had attached to the ceiling.

This is a video of our trunk while it was still light out. It looked the best in the dark but I knew my camera wouldn't be able to pick anything up.

Here is a video of Cris' pack all lit up. Sorry its sideways. I forgot that my camera wouldn't flip it : ).

And here are our prizes. The orange candies with the bobble heads on them were for the best trunk and the Toy Story candy is for best costume. I know they aren't much but we worked hard for them and are very proud. It was neat when they announced the winners because everyone knew that we won. It was nice to have everyone clap and cheer for us. It made it all worth it : ) Now to start planning for next year.......

talking on the phone

Here are two new videos of Navie that I took today. The first is a video of her playing with her pink ball and sporting her new fancy foot wear (not really, its just coupons that came in mail. She gets into everything!)

The second is Navie talking on my new cell phone. Its nice because I can actually lock the keypad and she can't make any calls : ) Sorry that its from behind but it was the only way I could catch her talking on the phone. I couldn't let her know I was watching : ).

Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday was a lot of fun. We took Navie to the pumpkin patch and got a "daddy" pumpkin, a "mommy" pumpkin, and a "navie" pumpkin. The pumpkins were huge! Saidly my batteries died so I couldn't get a lot of pictures but I did get a few.

Navie had a lot of fun looking at the pumpkins. They're as big as she is!

Navie in front of the "Tall in Fall" sign. She's not even 2 1/2 half feet tall.

Here's Navie and Daddy getting a ride on the straw horse : )

The wind really started to pick up so we had to get out Navie's new winter coat to keep her warm : ) Here you can see our family pumpkins. Now we just need to decide what we each want to do with them.

Fall Pictures

I love fall. It is my favorite time of year. So when I saw how the leaves were changing on the trees at our ward building, I had to take some pictures. I have had a lot of presidency meetings since I was called to 2nd councilor. We had another meeting yesterday to figure out child placement on the stand for the primary program. That's when I saw the trees : ). Here are a few pictures I took at the chapel.

And here is a short video of Navie walking backwards. She only does it for a little in the beginning. Don't mind the mess. Its been a long week so far and Navie doesn't help it much when she pulls out the DVDS : ).
