Pool Party

It is such a nice day out today! I figured that we would take advantage of the nice weather and spend some time outside. Navie really likes to be outside and studies everything around her. Today we spent time in the pool. There is something about the way a baby smells when they are wearing sunscreen; I just want to eat her up : ). When she wasn't trying to grab the grass, she was chasing her toys around the water : ).

Now for a little update, Navie can clap her hands! I love to watch her do it. We play patty cake all the time so I guess she finally figured out how to clap by herself : ). She still isn't crawling yet but getting really close. She pushes herself backwards and push herself up into a sitting position after being on her belly. It won't be long and I will be chasing her all over the house : ). I can't wait!

Family Portrait

So as you might have noticed by our new blog photo at the top of the page, today we had our family portrait taken. It was an experience, I can say that much. Thankfully we were the first appointment so we got right in. Navie wasn't too sure about it though. Usually she is really good for the camera but I think all the lights and the woman taking the pictures scared her a little bit. It was so hard to get her to stop crying. She has red splotches on her face but at least she didn't have a frown in the picture. I look hideous and like the odd man out since Navie and Cris look so much alike : ). We are planning on giving them out as mother's day presents so don't tell my mom that we put them on the blog (not like she won't check it anyway and see them before she gets her copy). We didn't get alot of poses because of Navie crying but I like the ones we did get. Here are some of my favorates... my very favorate is the family one at the top of the page : ).

There's a Mouse in the House!

So a few weeks ago I was sitting in the dining room and thought that I heard a noise coming from the kitchen that sounded like popcorn popping. I asked Cris to check it out for me and he said that he heard it too. Next thing I know, Cris slams the cabinet door close and he tells me that there was a mouse in there chewing on the tupperware! Yuck!!! How it got in the house, we have no idea. We've looked everywhere for an entry point and can't find one. Well we thought about calling a pest control company but then decided that it wouldn't be a good thing for them to spray chemicals and junk around when we have a little baby, so instead we set our own traps. We put one in the cabinet where we saw the mouse and one in the pantry just in case.

For a few days it seemed like the mouse had disappeared until I started to see mouse dropping in the pantry! Double yuck!!!!! Now I was really starting to worry because the traps didn't seem to be working and we couldn't have mice leaving droppings everywhere because that can carry diseases. Well, yesterday our problem was solved. The mouse finally got curious and the trap worked!!! Now I just have to keep an eye out for more mice just in case. We all ready have another trap set up. Lets hope that there won't be anymore mice!
